DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

Keres’ Eyes makes a great selection for any book club, filled with twists, turns, tough decisions, and high stakes. Suggest it for your book club today! Below are some questions you can use when you discuss the novel:

  • Should biological agents be developed and researched? Why or why not?

  • Should the government work in secret to try to protect its citizens, even if it risks endangering them? Why or why not?

  • If you knew there was a potential threat, what lengths would you go through in order to protect the population? Would your answer change if it meant sacrificing some to protect others?

  • The characters sacrifice for their job. What kind of person do you think would sign up for a job like that?

  • Did you agree with Craig’s decision in the beginning of the story to leave his position?

  • How could he have better handled his dilemma with Trisha?

  • After their situation became clear, the characters found themselves in a precarious position. What would you do if you were in their shoes?

  • Brett wasn’t trusted by the other scientists. What would you have done (or done differently) if you had been in his position?

  • If you had been the antagonist, would you have tried to achieve your goal the same way as he did? If not, what would you have done?
